A CHARITY is calling on people in Somerset to make sure their elderly relatives do not suffer isolation in care homes as a result of deafness.
Action on Hearing Loss advises people looking for a care home for their loved one to check what procedures are in place to support residents.
Chief executive Paul Breckell said: βIt doesn't matter how well a care home is run, if residents find themselves locked in an isolated world where they miss out on everyday sounds and conversation because their hearing loss isn't adequately supported.β
