DETECTIVES investigating a sexual assault in Chard are appealing to the public for information.

Police have just released details of an incident on the night of the Chard Carnival sometime between 11.30pm and 1am on Saturday, October 13, when a teenager was sexually assaulted in Redstart Park.

A 16-year-old has been arrested and bailed in relation to the matter.

A police spokesman said: "Officers investigating this incident are keen to speak to anyone how may have been in the park at the time of this incident particularly a dog walker who was wearing dark clothing and carrying a torch."
