A LONG-SERVING police horse has become the latest animal to be ‘retired’ to stables in France.

St Michael has been carrying out duties with Avon and Somerset Police for 15 years, including patrolling the Glastonbury Festival.

He is off to a Devon Horse Sanctuary-owned farm in the Dordogne.

Insp Andy Roebuck said: “He has been a wonderful horse for us and I know he will be well looked after in France.”
