Anger at lollipop lady abuse

THE head teacher of a Chard primary school has been left “devastated” after hearing that a crossing patrol lady received abuse from a parent.

Nik Gordon, head of Avishayes Primary School, said in the school’s latest newsletter that the “wonderful” lollipop lady was sworn at by a parent after she asked him to move his car from the staff car park.

“I was devastated to hear this news,” said Mrs Gordon.

“May I respectfully remind all parents that the crossing patrol’s role in school is primarily to keep our children safe.

“She does a great job and we’re very lucky to have her.

“If I hear of this type of abusive behaviour occurring again I’ll have no option but to report the person causing the harassment, which could lead to an £80 fine.”
