Hazelwell Lodge celebrates

STAFF and residents at Hazelwell Lodge Specialised Residential Care Home in Ilminster have been celebrating after winning two prizes at the prestigious Care Focus Somer-set Care Awards.

The awards were handed out at a black tie dinner and dance at the Wellspring Leisure Centre in Taunton.

Finalists were picked from hundreds of nominations for their outstanding dedication and achievements in the social care sector.

Hazelwell’s registered manager, Claire Kingdon, won the outstanding Manager, Leader, Supervisor Award for demonstrating exceptional ability in her role, and showing clear commitment to improving the delivery of care and support throughout the home.

The team of staff at Hazelwell Lodge won the Dignity in Care Award for demonstrating the significance of maximising service user independence and choice while respecting and maintaining privacy and dignity at all times.

Hazelwell Lodge has also been celebrating reaching the regional finals of the Great British Care Awards for Their Dignity in Care.

The winners are to be announced at an awards ceremony on November 16 at The Passenger Shed in Bristol with the national finals taking place next year at a prestigious London venue.
