Serious crash closes road near Totnes

Police were called to the scene of a traffic colllision between two HGVs which blocked the road at Blackawton near Totnes yesterday.
The collision, which involved a breakdown vehicle towing a car, happened around 9.50am between Norton Park and The Sportsmans Arms.
Police closed the road between Dartmouth and Halwell Cross.
A police spokesman said there were two vehicles involved- a DAF 38-tonne HGV and an Isuza 7.5 tonne breakdown lorry and a 37-year-old Dartmouth man was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth by air ambulance for treatment to a broken leg.
The other driver is thought to be unharmed.
