Tiverton Balloon Festival to feature over 20 live acts

WHETHER it’s folk, rock, jazz or pop, the live music at this year’s Tiverton Balloon Festival 2012 is set to showcase a dazzling array of regional talent.

With over 20 live acts confirmed so far, there’s sure to be something to get everyone tapping their feet. A wide range of live performing acts, including Tiverton Community Arts Theatre, will also pop up in different locations around the festival grounds over the weekend with everything from dancing and singing to morris dancing and drama.

The first act will take to the stage at 5.15pm on Friday, August 24, and the music continues from 1pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Highlights include the unique pop rock quartet The Nameless Girl on Sunday evening, the enchanting sound of upcoming solo artist Alex Gregory and the jigs of six-piece folk band The Rambling Wildsmiths, both on Saturday night.

Other performers include Tiverton High School students’ very own Rock School, the dancing, singing and drama of Tiverton’s Willow Tree Centre of Performing Arts, and the junior section of the Tiverton Brass Band.

The festival will also host a wide range of aerial activities, from mass hot air balloon ascents, model and vintage aircraft flybys and hot air balloon inflation competitions to giant kite flying and falconry displays.
