West Devon residents reminded to register to vote
3:28pm Thursday 21st June 2012 in Devon
Voter registration forms have been dropping through letterboxes across West Devon and people are being urged to return to make their voices heard in the November Police and Crime Commissioner election.
The West Devon Borough Council Election Office will be compiling the Register of Electors early this year as voters need to have their say at the ballot box on who is appointed to oversee the Police at the election on November 15.
The Register will be published on October 16 instead of December 1. Forms will be sent to all households in West Devon within the next couple of weeks. The form has to be returned by post if amendments such as adding or removing names are needed. If the details are unchanged, or to opt out or request an absent vote application form, it can be done online or by free phone.
Information about how to use this service is available on the information sheet included with the canvass form. The free phone and online service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the canvass period.
For more details call 01822 813665 or email callen@westdevon.gov.uk.
