John Lewis Exeter gets almost 3,000 job applications

JOHN Lewis Exeter has received almost 3,000 applications for the 300 retail specialist positions it has recruited for ahead of its opening this autumn.
Located on Sidwell Street in Exeter city centre, the shop will be the retailer’s first flexible format department store and will offer the full John Lewis assortment including fashion, beauty, consumer electronics, home and nursery.
The shop has been inundated with applications for roles ranging from section managers and specialist advisers to sales assistants and catering professionals.
Commenting on the recruitment process, Laura Berry, John Lewis recruitment manager said: "We have been overwhelmed with applicants for the new Exeter shop and have been extremely impressed with the standard of candidates."
