Police appeal for witnesses after Torquay assault

Torbay are appealing for witnesses after two men were assaulted on Ellacombe Road in Torquay during the early hours of Sunday, June 3.

The two victims, aged in their forties had been walking along Ellacombe Road at around 1am after a night out.

They were confronted by a group made up of several men and at least one female and knocked to the ground, with the assault still continuing while they were on the ground.

Both the victims were taken to Torbay Hospital by ambulance for head injuries, although not serious they suffered bruising and cuts.

A person believed to be with the group was heard to try to intervene and stop the attack on the two victims without success.
