KINDHEARTED staff from the Tiverton branch of legal firm Ashfords LLP have helped people in need of care by donating their belongings for its Charity of the Year Sue Ryder to sell in its shops.

Staff hunted through their shelves and wardrobes for good quality used items such as clothing, CDs and books, and put them in designated Sue Ryder bags, which were stacked in a donation station in the office.

Garry Mackay, a Partner at Ashfords LLP, who is taking part in the London Marathon for the charity later this month, said: "The donation station is crammed full with bags, and we are very impressed with the efforts of our staff. Sue Ryder provides an important service, which includes hospices and neurological and home care, and we are pleased to be able to support them."

Amber Andrews, a fundraiser at Sue Ryder, added: "We are delighted that staff at Ashfords managed to find so much to give to our charity shops, and would like to thank them for taking the time to go through their wardrobes. Any donations help us to provide valuable care for people with life limiting and end of life conditions."

Since partnering with the charity last May, Ashfords staff have taken part in a number of events for Sue Ryder, including quizzes, cake sales and dress down days.
