HOUSING landlords are being offered free advice and information at a new event.

Exeter City Council, East Devon council, Mid Devon council and Teignbridge District Council have teamed up to launch the first Landlord EXPO for the area.

The event will take place on November 24 and is open to all current and prospective landlords seeking advice on how to manage their rental properties.

Taking place at Sandy Park Conference Centre from noon to 7pm, entrance will be free, with free parking and refreshments provided throughout the day.

Exhibitors on the day will include a mix of local authority and commercial stands including community police, fire, Exeter University, deposit protection, local contractors and suppliers, energy advice, letting and estate agents and representatives from council departments.

In addition, a programme of seminars will be available throughout the day offering free and impartial advice on relevant topics such as taxation and accounting advice, Local Housing Allowance (housing benefit) changes, energy efficiency, business advice, property hazards from a landlord’s point of view and deposit disputes.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to book a free energy survey for their properties and find out more about energy grants.

People don't need to book just turn up on the day and benefit from the advice and opportunities on offer.
