Thief steals fossil collection

Police in Plymouth are trying to trace a thief who stole a collection of fossils.

The collection had been built up by its 42 year old owner owner since he was a 12 year old boy.

The fossils were taken from a property on Durnford Street, Plymouth between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday, November 17.

A police spokesman said: "The offender entered a communal area in a top-floor flat and stole two boxes, one of which contained the large collection of fossils.

Police sat that the suspect was spotted carrying the boxes full of fossils along Durnford Street that there would have been witnesses at such a busy time of day.
