BELLRINGERS at St Peter’s Church in Tiverton are inviting people to visit the tower on Tuesday, May 12 from 7pm as part of the Tivvyfest.

On offer is a chance to see the bells and the clock and to find out what’s involved in bellringing.

If the weather allows there will also be an opportunity to climb the 100 steps to the top of the tower and take in splendid views of the town.

Trips up the tower will be by group tours lasting one hour. If you are interested you are advised to book a place on a tour in advance by contacting the tower secretary, Glen Morgan, on 01884 250067 or email glenmorgan10@btinternet.com.

For safety reasons any children must be eight years or older and accompanied by an adult.

If the event whets your appetite there will be opportunities to have a go at ringing and to learn the art after the open night.
