A CAR was damaged in an accidental fire at a layby in Devon.
Fire engines from Tiverton and Bampton were sent to a layby on the A316 northbound between Bolham and Stoodleigh Cross at 12.11pm to reports of a large 4x4 vehicle on fire.
On arrival of the first fire engine, the officer in charge confirmed the vehicle was well alight in the engine compartment.
By 12.34pm, the incident commander confirmed the fire was out.
Firefighters extinguished the fire wearing breathing apparatus using a hose reel jet.
The fire was accidental.
