WHAT would you like to see improved about Tiverton Town Centre?

Mid Devon District Council is working on action plans for the town centre and the Pannier Market - and wants to hear from you.

Plans for the town centre include a range of improvements to the attractiveness, cleanliness and accessibility of the town, as well as reviewing the signage, branding and street furniture.

The council said it wants to work with businesses and other groups in the town to deliver these improvements.

In addition, the authority would like to expand the nature of the offer by looking at the night time economy, making the town centre more family friendly, improving safety and security and looking to foster new business success by creating areas for start-up and fledgling businesses.

The strategy for the Pannier Market includes focusing on marketing, branding and promotion and improving the appearance of the market by maximising the space available.

The council want to engage with the community, customers and traders, bring new businesses and traders into the market and work with educational institutions to get young people involved and to promote a healthy lifestyle through good food knowledge.

Richard Chesterton, cabinet member for Planning and Economic Regeneration, said: “We have some exciting plans for Tiverton Town Centre and the Pannier Market.

"This is an opportunity for as many people as possible to give us their thoughts and feedback to help us shape what the final plans will look like.”

The consultation period runs for six weeks from Friday, July 22 to Friday, September 2.
