A CHIMNEY fire broke out in Willand around midday today.
Firefighters from Cullompton attended the scene at Fir Close at 12.01pm and found the fire in an open hearth cofined to the flu.
A building control officer was requested to attend due to an unstable chimney stack.
Crews then requested the aerial ladder platform from Danes Castle to attend, to attack the fire from the roof.
Crews also used a thermal imaging camera and small tools at the incident. Crews damped down the fire, and were set to revisit the property to make an inspection later in the afternoon.
