VISITORS to Costa Coffee in Tiverton will be familiar with seeing best-selling romance novelist, Jenny Kane with coffee cup in hand, tapping away on her laptop writing her latest novel.

Now you will have the chance to get a book signed by her.

On Monday November 23 between 6pm and 9pm, the successful author of such books as Another Cup of Coffee and Abi’s House, will be doing a live book signing, selling copies of her books and talking about the inspiration behind her novels, which unsurprisingly involves coffee.

As well as the book signing, local band M-theory will be playing live from 8pm, getting everyone in the mood for coffee and Christmas.

Costa Tiverton’s store manager, Claire Wright said: “Jenny Kane has been our resident novelist since the day we opened, some three and a half years ago.

“She even has her own corner of the coffee shop, marked with an official plaque.

“We’re delighted she has agreed to do this book signing in the run up to Christmas.

“We look forward to welcoming customers, old and new on the night.”

Inspired by everything and anything, Jenny combines her past experiences as an archaeologist, university tutor, cheese seller, newsagent, hat maker, children’s story teller, and data clerk, with the sights and sounds of everyday life, to weave her tales of relaxingly relatable romance.

When Jenny is not writing romance, she is dreaming up stories for children’s picture books, for far more talented people than her to illustrate.

Jenny added: “Costa Tiverton is like my second home, “I spend so much of my time there, writing my novels and sipping small black Americanos all day long.

“All the staff at Costa know me well and I even help out clearing tables during busy periods.

“The book signing gives me an opportunity to tear myself away from my laptop (although possibly not the coffee) and chat to the people of Tiverton about my work.”

Ten per cent of all proceeds from any books sold during the evening will be donated to the Costa Foundation (www.costafoundation.com), an independent charity that aims to relieve poverty in coffee-growing communities.

Its mission is to improve the life chances of boys and girls by providing them with the opportunity for a quality education.
