DEVON and Cornwall Police has issued an Evofit of a man they are seeking in connection with a burglary at an elderly woman’s home in Tiverton.

A man entered the house around 4pm on Monday, April 13 while the woman, who is in her 80s, was in her garden.

When she went inside she found him in the property and he fled when she confronted him.

She then discovered that jewellery and banking books were missing.

The offender took a gold five bar bracelet and a decorative gold ring with a central green stone and diamonds.

Police have now released an Evofit in the hope that the public can help identify a man they would like to speak to about the offence.

The suspect is described as white, around 6ft tall, of slim build and in his mid 20s. He had short dark hair which was wavy or curly on top and was clean shaven.

He was wearing a navy blue jumper which had a fine rib detail and narrow red bands around each wrist.

Detective Constable Katie Rich, from Tiverton CID, said: “The woman was left feeling shaken up by this offence.

"I would appeal to members of the public to contact the police if they can help us to identify the man in the Evofit.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious individual or vehicle near the property, which is in the vicinity of Wilcombe School, at the time of the offence.”

Anyone with information to assist the investigation is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 55511, quoting crime reference CR/025286/15.
