A SELL-OUT quiz organised by Newton St Cyres Young Farmers Club and the Credi-ton/Witheridge branch of the NFU raised £1,745 for the Royal Agricultural Benevo-lent Institution and the Far-ming Community Network.

The quiz, on February 27 at Sandford Parish Hall, was well attended, and organiser Geor-gina Davie said: “It was great to see lots of people, especially those who made such an effort to travel across the county.

“It’s great to have a strong partnership with the NFU and we look forward to organising the quiz again next year.”

The event saw 50 teams participate in the quiz, compiled by past member Tom Davie, while everyone enjoyed drinks and pasties served by members of the YFC.

The top three teams won prize money donated by the NFU, and their scores were as follows: Happy Campers 92; Complete Harmony 98; and John’s Deeres 103.

Georgina, her sister, Emma, and Bow YFC member Alice Giles will be organising another quiz in May to raise money for the Three Peaks Challenge they are in training for.

Alongside sponsorship, they will be organising additional events to raise money for the FCN and the new Devon YFC building in Cheriton Bishop.

The quiz take places at The Waie Inn, Crediton, on Friday, May 1, at 7pm for a 7.30pm start – teams of four pay £10.
