EXETER law firm Browne Jacobson has announced it has chosen Hospiscare as its chosen charity for 2015.

Set up over thirty years ago Hospiscare is a local independent charity providing specialist palliative care services for local people with a terminal diagnosis in the Exeter, mid and east Devon areas.

The charity cares for over 2000 patients each year, and receives its income from voluntary donations, its shops in the area and the Hospiscare lottery. They are proud of the fact that for every £1 raised, 88p is spent directly on patient care.

Each of Browne Jacobson’s five offices nominates a charity to support in their area each year and last year the firm raised over £28,000 for good causes across its five office network.

Richard Cousins, Corporate Relationships Manager at Hospiscare, said: “I am delighted that Browne Jacobson has nominated Hospiscare as their Charity of the Year for 2015.

"We need to raise £4m every year to continue to provide the same levels of service to our patients and their families in Exeter, Mid and East Devon and we can only achieve this with the support of businesses such as Browne Jacobson.

"Both myself and my colleagues look forward to working with their team in the forthcoming year.”

Mark Fowles, partner at Browne Jacobson, added: “At Browne Jacobson we are committed to supporting local causes.

"It is always difficult to choose one charity as there are so many great local causes who need financial support but the work, help and support Hospiscare provides really resonated with our people this year.

“We are delighted to be supporting a charity that provides such a vital service to the local community.

"The service staff and volunteers provide is invaluable and we hope to highlight the brilliant work they do caring for local people as well as raise much n
