A UNIQUE evening of glitzy burlesque entertainment shimmies its way to Bickleigh Castle near Tiverton on Saturday, February 7.

The event is open to anyone, and features top international burlesque dancers Miss Vicky Butterfly and Beau Rocks, compèred by well known ‘Burlesque Baker’ Charlotte White.

The daughter of an Irish showgirl and an eccentric Viennese aristocrat, Miss Vicky Butterfly’s burlesque work reflects her bohemian upbringing.

A notable innovator, she uses contemporary technology with a richly decadent aesthetic and lavish showmanship complete with a range of spectacular costumes and props.

Beau Rocks was voted one of the top ten UK burlesque performers of 2014.

Glaswegian-born Beau is reminiscent of an Alberto Vargas pin-up girl with a cute sass, flirty smile and unmistakably naughty sparkle in her eye.

Charlotte said: “I was as chuffed as little mint balls to be invited to host this event.

“Having visited the venue last year, I can’t wait to return to such a glamorous location.”

For the more adventurous Star reader, prior to the evening party guests will be able to attend a burlesque workshop at 4.30pm, run by Pink Kitten Dance School, of Bristol.

You can learn some tantalising and teasing moves of the burlesque art – perfect for putting into practice for Valentine’s Day the weekend after.

For those guests wanting a truly complete afternoon, Charlotte is running a cake baking workshop at 2.30pm.

With clients including the likes of Dame Vera Lynn and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, and having appeared on the Great British Bake Off on TV, Charlotte is famous for taking inspiration from the decadent world of burlesque to produce spectacular wedding cakes.

She said: “I’ve long been a fan of burlesque and my first book, Burlesque Baking, featured cakes inspired by my favourite performers.

“My mission is to bring a little of the glamour of burlesque into kitchens up and down the country.

“Hopefully, lots of lovely people will join my Burlesque Baking workshop before the main event and take home something deliciously decorated.”
