Police are investigating an attack on a man in a Plympton car park by two men who were wearing full head gorilla masks.

The 47-year-old local man was attacked as he got into his silver Audi estate car outside Chaplins Superstore, Galileo Close, Newnham Industrial Estate, at around 5.30pm on Friday, November 21.

Two men had waited for him nearby and watched him as he walked across the car park to his car, which was parked close to a line of buses.

After a struggle in the Audi the victim chased off his attackers who fled on foot from the car park. He suffered minor facial injuries as a result of the assault.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the attack happen, or may have seen two men waiting around the area before the incident or running away after.
