YEAR 11 and Year 12 students from Queen Elizabeth's visited St Edmund Hall, the Oxford College attended by our local MP Mel Stride for a visit arranged to help to inform students about Oxford and to dispel some of the elitist myths about the university.

For the first part of the day, students were given a very informative talk about the admissions process at Oxford from the Admissions Tutor at St Edmund Hall.

Margaret Moran Mylett, law teacher, said: “It was clear from the feedback we had from the students who went on the trip that they found the day stimulating and interesting.

“Many commented on how 'normal' the university students were, and all felt that visiting St Edmund Hall had given them a very helpful insight into university life and study.

“We are very grateful to Mel, his assistant Mike Knucky, and the staff at St Edmund Hall for once again facilitating this visit and we look forward to repeating it next year.”
