LOOKING for inspiration for gift ideas?

The huge annual Christmas Shopping Fayre at Exeter's Westpoint Exhibition Centre on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 28, 29 and 30, offers the perfect solution.

For three fun-packed days the Devon County Showground will soon be hosting an amazing range of retailers, manufacturers, craftspeople, wholesalers and importers who come from far and wide.

They transform the vast 50,000sq ft Westpoint hall into an Aladdin’s cave of wonderful gift ideas and essential Christmas items.

You’ll really enjoy spending a few hours browsing around 100s of stalls displaying a wider selection of products than you’d ever have imagined was possible and all indoors in a giant heated hall.

The Barnstaple-based organisers, Grandstand Events, spend much of the year putting together as diverse a mix of traders as possible for this three-day event and this will be their 19th year of staging the Christmas Shopping Fayre at Westpoint.

Many of the exhibitors have been attending since the start but to keep it fresh the organisers seek out a wide cross-section of new companies with products yet to reach the High Street.

Their wide-ranging products go down well with the 1000s of shoppers who rely on the Shopping Fayre each year for really diverse and original gift ideas.

Wonderful wooden carvings from Bali, batiks from Tanzania, worry dolls from Guatemala, alpaca knitwear from Peru – the list is long.

Many of the traders are major importers with products from far-flung countries. You could easily imagine you've been whisked off to an exciting bazaar! Every alleyway is packed with interesting ideas.

You’ll meet many leading local craft-workers with an incredible diversity of jewellery, artwork, ceramics, fabrics, wood, glass etc.

They will be showing their latest unique creations - ideal for that really special gift. Some of the craft-workers will be demonstrating their skills at the fayre so you can watch them at work.

The Speciality Food and Drink area is always busy. You can meet top producers offering free tastings of their offerings from scrummy puddings and pies to gorgeous wines and liqueurs.

You’ll also enjoy spending a while watching the clever demonstrators showing off the latest kitchen gadgets.

There's never a dull moment at the Shopping Fayre with talented street-type entertainers and so much to see in every alley.

Meet ‘Wildlife on Exmoor’ star Johnny Kingdom in the foyer and the very popular free Santa's grotto is located there too.

The very first stand you’ll see in the main hall is ‘Magic Masterclass’ where award winning magician Ben Woodward will show you how to perform his amazing magic tricks.

The biggest attraction though is always the huge variety of goods on offer, that’s what attracts so many shoppers every year.

Never been? Then what are you waiting for - you’ve got a real treat in store!

There’s ample free parking on-site and a newly refurbished restaurant and café. Admission is still only £3.50, seniors £2.50 and kids of 16 and under free of charge.
