A DEVON holiday park with its own private beach has won a top tourism award for providing the best family experience and customer service.

Sites across Somerset, Dorset and Devon were shortlisted for the regional 2014 Hoseasons ‘Family Fun’ Diamond Award.

And Ladram Bay Holiday Park, on the East Devon coast between Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton, scooped the top award – for the fourth consecutive year.

The annual awards were held at the Celtic Manor Resort near Cardiff, with the Family Fun category recognising ‘exceptional quality and outstanding customer service for family holidays’.

Zoe House, Ladram Bay Holiday Park Director, said: “It’s customers who vote for this Diamond Award so we’re absolutely thrilled. We are a family business with a family ethos and strive to make sure holiday-makers have the best time with us every time they stay.

“We’re not a big chain or a one size fits all holiday park. Our team work hard to look after customers and provide an incredible holiday experience – so well done to the whole team.”

Some 560 companies entered the annual tourism awards, from regions across the country.

Last month, Ladram Bay Holiday Park won a Gold accolade in the David Bellamy Conservation Awards.

Claire Williams, the General Manager, said the aim is to keep on improving the park and customer experience.

She said: “We have our new swimming pool project to complete this winter. So far, we have revamped our changing rooms and put in a sauna and steam room. The next phase will include a new swimming pool, children’s play area and a small gym. It should be fantastic when it is finished.”

Ladram Bay is one of the largest privately owned family run holiday parks in the UK. The park has its own private beach set in a secluded sheltered bay.
