A MUM from Halberton is set to take on the gruelling challenge of four half-marathons in two months to raise money for a children’s cancer charity.

Jenny Miller, 37, begins her quest with the Great North Run in Newcastle on September 7, before taking on races in Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter.

She will be raising money for Children with Cancer UK, in aid of her friend’s daughter, who has cancer.

She said: “After having some time off running this year due to a pelvic injury, I’m now back to full fitness and I have decided to run four-half-marathons during September and October this year.

“This year I am raising money for the charity Children with Cancer UK.

“It is the leading national children's charity dedicated to the fight against all childhood cancers.

“About 2,400 children and teenagers are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. The charity aims to determine the causes, find cures and provide care for children with cancer.

“We have a friend whose little girl sadly has cancer and I want to help raise money to help this charity.

“Please can anyone help by sponsoring me to run the half-marathons and help raise vital funds.”
