THE family of a Cullompton teenager who was killed in a motorcycle collision last week have paid tribute to “a loveable character who was loved by so many people.”

Mason Jones died following a single vehicle collision on Tuesday, July 22 on the A3440 just outside Uffculme in Mid Devon.

The 18-year-old was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital but later died as a result of his injuries.

His father David and stepmother Jo, said: “We were privileged to have him as a son, he touched so many people's lives during his 18 years and we have been truly comforted by the overwhelming gestures, kindness and support from his many, many friends.

“He was a young man wiser than his years, who always saw the good in people, he was such a loveable character who was loved by so many people, old and young, he was always on hand to offer a cheery smile and one of his special hugs to make people feel better, sleep tight son we are so proud of you.”

His mother Shona, and sisters Zoe, Heidi and Cassie, said: “Mason you have touched so many people. Your friends and family have made you proud by celebrating your life with everyone who knew you.

“Your nephews have been doing flips on the trampoline just like you taught them.

“Sky (his niece) has been so desperate to hear the Donald duck voice just one more time.

“You were someone special put on this earth to send love and joy to everyone that you knew - such an amazing young man who will be greatly missed. “An inspiration to everyone - we will love you forever and always.”
