GARDENS, grub and antique art all helped raise money for the League of Friends of Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, at Huntsham Court near Tiverton on Wednesday.

The day featured two separate events, with first a food fair, including stalls the work of local artists and artisans, small antiques, plants and garden gifts as well as food stands selling local delicacies.

The second event was a lighthearted burlesque evening of supper and song.

Huntsham Court co-owners Christopher Badham said: “Huntsham Court has stood at the heart of this vibrant community for over a century and with Huntsham Hotspots we want to ensure that the house and its grounds continue to play a role in the life of the area.”

Liz Shirley-Smith, Fundraising Consultant for the League of Friends said: “We hope this event will make a good contribution to the bed appeal.

“We are delighted to be chosen to hold a day at Huntsham Court and provide a wonderful opportunity for the public to visit this hidden gem in the midst of lovely countryside.”
