A TALENTED cast of Blundell's students are relishing the challenge of performing an epic Noel Coward play to mark the centenary of World War l.
The play, Cavalcade, is a deeply moving and wonderfully written play but is rarely performed because of the huge scale of the production.
It focuses on three decades in the life of the Marryotts, a quintessential British family, and their servants, beginning in 1900 and ending on New Year's Eve 1929.
It is set against the major historical events of the period including, of course, World War I. The Year nine and ten students are performing the play from June 18-20 in the school's Ondaatje Theatre and tickets at £7.50 are available from the school office during office hours or by ringing 01884 232401.
There will be a collection on behalf of the Royal British Legion during the interval and at the end of the play. The play is being directed by James Rochfort, the school's resident professional actor.
His theatre credits include the National Theatre's Olivier award-winning All My Sons and leading roles on television, including Eastenders, Lewis and the title role in Channel 4's Snowdon and Margaret.
