TO mark Armed Forces Day on Saturday June 28, local bus operator First is giving free travel throughout Plymouth to all serving Armed Forces personnel.

The offer applies to anyone wearing uniforms of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army, Royal Airforce or any associated cadet force on any First bus service travelling into Plymouth.

This includes all First bus services running within Plymouth plus Services 1/1A. 48, 76, 81, 83/A, 86, 93 and the Park & Ride. Retired Armed Forces personnel and veterans are also included in the offer.

Plymouth will be staging an exciting day of events around the Hoe with displays both on the ground and airborne including one by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, and an evening of music.

Commenting on the offer, Robbie Lamerton, General Manager of First South West, said: “Armed Forces Day is all about thanking serving members of the forces for all their outstanding work for this country. With Plymouth staging such a wonderful host of events to mark the occasion, offering them free passage is our way of giving them First’s freedom of the city.”
