Three more arrests have been made in connection with a robbery at the House of Diamonds in Paignton.

An 18-year-old man from Torquay, a 42 year-old-man from Newton Abbot and a 32-year-old man from Torquay were arrested on suspicion of robbery on Friday, May 2 and released on police bail until July 24.

Zico Rawlinson, a 21-year-old from Barton, Torquay, has been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon and appeared before magistrates.

Investigating officers have released CCTV film taken at the store in a bid to identify other suspects.

In the CCTV men are seen to enter the store wearing hoody-style tops over white painter-and-decorator style disposable overalls.

Shortly after they are seen exiting the store on Torquay Road along with the member of staff who attempts to stop them escaping.

During the robbery the shop owner sustained a minor injury to his arm.

Witnesses managed to detain one of the suspects whilst another two made off and got into a waiting car. The white Peugeot was recovered a short distance away with the two other suspects making off on foot.

Taken in the raid were around £7,000 worth of jewellery including rings, pendants, bracelets and brooches made of yellow or white gold.
