POLICE in Tiverton are appealing for information following a robbery in the Town.
The incident occurred just before 1pm on Wednesday May 7 at the entrance to People's Park, which is near the leisure centre in Tiverton.
A police helicopter was seen hovering over Tiverton on Wednesday afternoon as officers tried to locate the man.
Also on the scene were gorund units and dog a dog support unit.
The offender threatened the victim aged 18 years with a knife before stealing money and a mobile phone.
The suspect is also believed to have approached another man in the walk way between Morrison's supermarket and Market Carpets shortly before this incident but nothing was stolen.
Police are keen to trace five school children who may have witnessed this incident.
No person has been injured as a result of either incident. The suspect is described as being a white man, aged 18 to 25 years, 5'11 to 6' in height, of thin build and wearing a grey hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms.
