QUEEN Elizabeth’s School in Crediton has been helping French exchange students get a taste of British life with a week of fun-filled activities.
The school hosted more than 20 French students and staff on the first French exchange it had held for several years.
The itinerary included visits to Exeter Museum, Exeter Cathedral, the Eden Project and many more.
MFL team leader Eleanor Smith said: “The first part of the exchange was absolutely brilliant. The students from QE represented the school in a fantastic way.
“We were proud to see them acting as guides and translators for their exchange partners. A huge thank you must also go to the parents of our students.
“They went above and beyond expectation and provided a warm welcome to each of the students they welcomed into their homes.”
Queen Elizabeth’s and Saint Joseph School, Bruz, decided to work together to give all the students a feel for the other country’s culture and language.
The week ended with an ‘English Evening’ at the Queen Elizabeth’s Lower School Hall. More than 120 guests ate, chatted and joined in with Morris Dancing.
The second part of the exchange, when Queen Elizabeth’s students visit France, will be from May 10.
