PEOPLE across Mid Devon, Exeter and East Devon are preparing to open their gardens for Hospiscare’s tenth Summer of Open Gardens.
Over 35 gardens of all shapes and sizes are taking part, including urban spaces, hotel grounds and wild flower gardens.
Throughout the summer, gardens will be opened to the public with a range of plants, animals and trees to admire as well as home-made refreshments to enjoy.
Among those taking part is Jessica Macan, a Hospiscare, volunteer who said: “I enjoy opening my garden to the public. I love my garden and seeing other people enjoying it, and find it a positive thing to do for a very positive local charity.’’
This is the tenth year Hospiscare has run its open garden calendar, and com-munity fundraiser Susie Healey said: “Open gardens raises thousands of pounds each year for Hospiscare.
“It’s a lovely way to enjoy summer days and get ideas for your own garden while supporting a local charity.”
Donations for viewing the gardens help Hospiscare deliver high-quality care and dedicated free support to people who are terminally ill in the area.
