BRADNINCH Folk Club is set to welcome Andy Clarke to the Castle Hotel.
He is one of the most knowledgeable and talented performers on the folk scene, not just locally but nationally. His father, a folk singer and musician in the 1960s, introduced Andy to a lifelong passion for traditional song.
Andy runs his own folk club in Totnes and works mainly as a solo artist, performing in clubs and festivals all over the country.
He also collaborates with Jackie Oates and Steve Turner of The Eelgrinders as the trio Wistmans Wood, and he provides the driving rhythm in the Mooncoin Ceilidh Band.
Andy is an excellent entertainer as demonstrated by his visit to Bradninch Acoustic Music Club last year where his power, passion and singing virtuosity left everyone with a clear sense of hearing a performer at the top of his game.
Support will include club residents, visitor Pete Kerr – returning after many years’ absence – and duo Paul Smails and David Stephens, who will perform a mix of world music.
The event is on Tuesday, April 15, and the start time is 8pm. Entry is £4 on the door.
