Police are appealing for witnesses after an allegation that a man indecently assaulted a woman and exposed himself to her in the salt marsh area of Saltram House on Tuesday last week.
The incident took place on March 25 between 5.20pm and 5.45pm.
The suspect is described as a white man with an unkempt appearance and tanned complexion. He is average height, with dark hair going grey, of slim build and aged between 40 and 50 years old. He was wearing jeans, a muddy brown coat and a light coloured baseball cap.
The man had a dark coloured mountain bike with a large bike lock on the frame.
The victim was later treated in hospital for a leg injury.
A 40 year-old man from Plymouth was arrested by police on suspicion of assault and exposure and released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen a man matching the description on or around the Saltram area either on foot or on a mountain bike to contact them by calling 101 quoting crime reference number EK/14/247.
