FIVE-year-old William Andrews has won a competition to name Taylor Wimpey’s stunning new collection of homes near Exeter.

Cornflowers, the name for this second phase of new-build homes at the leading housebuilder’s Cranbrook development, is based on William’s suggestion of Cornflower Meadow.

The reception class pupil from St Martin’s Primary School in Cranbrook has received a £20 book token in recognition of World Book Day which took place on 6th March, while the school has been awarded £50 to spend on new books.

Tania Beard, Headteacher at St Martin’s Primary School, says: “It is wonderful to be supported by Taylor Wimpey, they provided us with a tree at Christmas and now are funding much needed additional books for our library. The competition they organised for naming the new development was very popular with the children and we had some imaginative and creative entries. William was thrilled when I told him he had won, as were his proud parents!”

Janine Copleston, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “With the first phases of our fantastic Cranbrook development all being named after flowers, we wanted to continue the flower theme with our second phase and we were delighted with the suggestions we received from the children at St Martin’s Primary School.

“We loved William’s idea and we can’t wait to unveil the impressive new homes at Cornflowers to prospective homebuyers when the new phase is launched later this year.”

There’s a superb selection of homes currently available to buy at Cranbrook, including two-bedroom properties priced from only £149,995, three and four-bedroom homes from just £259,995 and five-bedroom houses from as little as £499,995.

Located eight miles from Exeter, Cranbrook is a brand new community of eco-friendly homes and is the first new town of its kind in Devon.

Parents will appreciate a choice of new primary and secondary schools in the area, while a range of community facilities, including a health centre and a central shopping street, are being created as part of this new development.

For commuters, junction 29 of the M5 is just minutes away for journeys to Exeter and Bristol, while a new railway station is due to open in 2015 and will offer direct services to London Waterloo.
