A man has been left with serious injuries after an alleged attacked by three masked men, one of which was said to have been wielding a baseball bat.

Police in Torbay are appealing for witnesses to the assault in Old Mill Road, Torquay, in which a man "suffered serious injuries".

Three men, wearing balaclavas, allegedly attacked the victim with a baseball bat between 10.45pm and 11pm on Monday, March 24.

The victim, a 42-year-old local Turkish man, suffered a head injury as a result of the attack.

Emergency services responded promptly to the incident and one man, who is known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of assault. The 49-year-old from Torquay has been released on police bail until 6 May.

The other two men police would like to speak to in connection with the assault are described as aged between 30 and 40, 6ft in height, and were speaking Kurdish. They were wearing dark clothing.
