Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered serious facial injuries in an alleged assault in Kingsbridge at the weekend.

Two men were involved in a brief altercation inside the Coast nightclub at 3am on Sunday 23 March.

One of the men allegedly assaulted the other in the main bar and dance floor area.

The victim, a 20-year-old from Kingsbridge, suffered serious facial injuries as a result and went to Torbay hospital for treatment.

The other man, a 30-year-old man from Dorset, was arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail until 13 May.

A police spokesperson said: “The alleged assault took place in front of a number of people and we are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed it, or who has any information that could assist with the investigation.”
