Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash near Bittaford, Ivybridge at the weekend.

A black Kawasaki 500 motorcycle and black Citroen Berlingo were involved in the collision on the B3213 Bittaford Road at Skew Bridge, at around 3.35pm on Sunday 16 March.

Both vehicles were travelling in the Bittaford direction.

The 24-year-old male motorcycle rider, from the South Brent area, sustained serious leg injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance. His condition is described as serious but stable.

The car driver, 37, from Somerset, was not injured.

Highways were called to assist with the road closure while investigations took place.

The road reopened at around 8.40pm.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or the vehicles shortly before, is asked to call police on 101 quoting log 544 of 16 March.
