Police have charged a man with attempted robbery and possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence following an incident in Paignton at the weekend.
John Colley, 31, of Fernicombe Road, Paignton, was charged and detained by police to appear in Torquay Magistrates’ Court this morning (Monday, February 24)
He was arrested following an incident at the Bargain Booze store in Foxhole Road in the town at around 8.40pm on Friday, February 21.
A police spokesman said: "This was an isolated incident and very unusual. We thank the community for their assistance with our enquiries. Anyone with any concerns is asked to please contact their neighborhood team via 101."
