Man arrested after deer shot with crossbow near Plymouth: UPDATE

UPDATE: A 25-year-old man from Plymouth has been released on police bail until February 7 at Charles Cross police station.
He was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
A man has been arrested following a report that a deer had been shot by a crossbow in the Plymbridge area of Plymouth.
Devon & Cornwall Police and the RSPCA are investigating the report that a wild deer was shot on Sunday, December 29.
A male has been arrested in possession of a crossbow and is assisting Devon & Cornwall Police officers and officers from the RSPCA with their enquiries.
It is possible that the deer has been wounded and is still alive. Efforts are being made by the Police and RSPCA to track and locate the deer so that it can be treated for any injuries sustained.
It is requested that if any member of the public sees a deer in the Plymbridge / Leigham / Wrigley's factory area with an injury consistent with having been hit by a crossbow bolt they note the location of the deer and contact Devon andCornwall Police on 101 quoting log 249 29/12/13 .
