A TEAM of Tiverton ladies are working passionately at the hub of Tiverton's very own grotto this Christmas to ensure that every child touched by cancer across the UK receives a very special award.

The Cancer Research UK Little Star Awards in partnership with TK Maxx recognises children's courage and bravery in dealing with cancer.

From the warehouse in Tiverton Business Park every child nominated for the award will be sent a silver-star shaped trophy, a certificate signed by some of the world's biggest stars from sport, TV and music and a TX Maxx voucher.

Over 600 courageous children last year received a Little Star Award - and the Tiverton ladies are already working behind the scenes making sure that all the awards reach the nominated children to brighten up their Christmas and New Year.

Charlie Franklin said: “It is an honour for our team to be responsible for sending such magical awards this time of year on behalf of Cancer Research UK. The children nominated are so courageous and we wish every child and their families a Christmas to treasure.”

The awards are unique in that every child nominated will receive the special gift and relatives and friends of young cancer patients or survivors from across the UK are being urged to nominate them now for special recognition in the run up to Christmas and New Year.
