BUDDING engineers from Wellington School showed off their creative side at the Fleet Air Arm Museum.
Six Year 10 students beat other schools at an Engineering Challenge Day which tested their ability to design a gimballed runway that would allow planes to launch from a ship in heavy seas.
The team of Isabel Elliott, Charlie Hodgkinson, Tom Hollingsworth, Philip Horler, Annabelle Jay and Matthew Lee had to cost out the project and complete it within a set time.
A Year 11 team from Wellington finished fourth.
