EXPERIMENTING with a “beard of bees” at a honey farm in South Molton was just part of a normal working day for Jodie Jones.
The 17-year-old allowed hundreds of bees to swarm over her face at Quince Honey Farm as they tried to find the queen which was hidden in a box under her chin.
Jodie, who is studying business at Petroc College, said: “I heard my boss talking about bee beards and I just wanted to give it a go.
“I didn’t get stung but someone who did it the day before me got stung seven times.”
The novel idea is set to become a full-time attraction at the farm from next year.
