Crediton's Crisp P Duck is well travelled
2:00pm Saturday 21st September 2013 in Devon
WHEN Crediton volunteer Lynne Cooper knitted her first duck for Exeter Leukaemia Fund in March 2012 she had no idea she would knit 400 more.
The cuddly toys are on sale at ELF charity shops as a thank you for the support her husband has received from the charity while undergoing treatment at the Haematology Centre at the Royal Devon & Exeter hospital in Exeter.
The first, named Crisp P Duck, travelled the world in a quest to raise awareness and funds for ELF.
ELF retail manager Debbie Armstrong said: “Lynne is an inspiration. Not only has she had to contend with her husband’s health problems, recently she has been very ill herself, but she always manages to keep smiling and cheery.”
