POP star Joss Stone has told a court she only became aware of an alleged plot to kill her when police visited her at her Mid Devon home.

Junior Bradshaw, 32, and Kevin Liverpool, 35, stood accused of conspiracy to murder, rob and cause grievous bodily harm at the start of their trial at Exeter Crown Court today (Tuesday).

The pair, both of St Stephens Close, Manchester, were arrested a few miles from her home in Ashill, near Cullompton, in June 2011.

Weapons including a samurai sword, a lock knife, a hammer and notes suggesting they intended to decapitate the pop star before dumping her body in a river were also found, prosecutors said.

They deny all charges.

The trial is expected to last up to three weeks.
