Former Tiverton mayor due in court on benefit fraud charges

TIVERTON’S former mayor Kevin Wilson will face benefit fraud charges when he appears in court in Exeter today (Tuesday).

The Liberal Democrat, 54, who has since been suspended from the party's Mid Devon branch, first appeared in court last Tuesday when a week long adjournment was granted.

Mr Wilson was Tiverton mayor during the 2007/08 ceremonial year.

The charges against him have been brought by Mid Devon District Council.
