Cyclist stopped riding wrong way down motorway hard shoulder

A CYCLIST was stopped by police after he was caught riding against on-coming traffic on the hard shoulder of the M5 motorway near Cullompton.
Officers were alerted to the cyclist after receiving reports that someone was riding the wrong way along the northbound lane around 7am this morning (Monday).
Bicycles are prohibited on motorways under Rule 253 of the Highway Code.
